ISLU international contacts make a major contribution to the University commitment to provide high quality of education and training.
The first steps in the realm of students’ exchange were made in the late 1950s. The International Relations Department was set up in 1988 to effectively promote international cooperation aimed at training world-class specialists in the educational, research and social spheres.

Key trends in ISLU’s international activities:
ISLU has by now concluded about 40 international agreements with universities, educational organizations and foundations in Europe, Asia and the USA. These partner relations form a foundation for successful joint research projects, educational and cultural events.
1. Strasburg University (France)
Our graduates are awarded a Russian diploma (specialty “Translation and Translatology”) and a French diploma (corresponds to 1 year of Master’s studies in France), which confirms eligibility for 2-nd year Master’s program in a French university.
2. Quqihar University (PRC)

ISLU seeks new partners and internships opportunities with the view to broaden the collaboration geography. Every year more and more students and professors go abroad. Students and post-graduates have a chance to be awarded a double diploma. Graduates can pursue Master’s and Ph.D. degree programs offered by the partner universities. As a linguistic university ISLU takes pride in the growing number of native speaking professors and teachers.
ISLU has a vast experience in training foreign students. All teachers of the Russian language have worked abroad and are qualified for teaching Russian as a foreign language. Foreign students are offered a wealth of training programs both by International Faculty and other faculties of the University. They can also apply for a second higher education program.
ISLU takes an active part in national and international programs and foundations providing the support for invitation of distinguished leaders in various fields of knowledge and implementation of international research and academic projects.
We also encourage our students and post-graduate researchers to seek for educational and study grants offered by various international organizations (IREX, Fulbright, DAAD, British Council, TACIS, etc.)
Opportunities for Foreigners
Bachelor’s applicants usually take a one-year preparatory course, upon completion of which they can claim the National Certificate of the first level. Those who pass the national test will be enrolled for the first year of any faculty of the University.
